Coroner IDs 2-year-old boy who died in fall from Denver apartment building window

Denver authorities on Monday released the identity of the 2-year-old boy who died Thursday  on the upper level of an apartment building.

Colton Bolsinger’s has been ruled an accident by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Denver police officers were called to the scene Thursday on the 1200 block of South Bellaire Street in the Virginia Village neighborhood at about 2:45 p.m., where the child was pronounced dead.

Cmdr. Ron Saunier said one of the child’s parents, a roommate and several other children were in the apartment at the time of the incident. He said preliminary indications showed the fall was an accident, but authorities are considering negligence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police have released few details on their investigation into the case. On Monday, Christine Downs, a police spokeswoman, said the case remains under investigation.
