Dogs have become a sore spot at festivals, farmers markets and in other public places across Colorado as residents and city officials clash over their presence. Rules vary and are often hard to enforce, even as cities are cracking down in the name of public safety.

On June 7, the Lafayette City Council unanimously approved a ban on animals at public events. The council cited safety concerns such as high temperatures, animals being injured and animals acting aggressively toward humans and each other.

What do you think? Should people be allowed to bring their dogs to a farmers market or a festival?
