ANKARA, Turkey — Turkey’s state-run news agency says authorities are evacuating residents and tourists from a resort in the Mediterranean coastal province of Antalya that is being threatened by a forest fire.

The Anadolu Agency says the fire, which broke out near the resort of Adrasan on Sunday, was spreading toward the nearby retreat of Olimpos, fanned by strong winds. It said hotels, guest houses and other tourist facilities in Olimpos were being evacuated as a precaution.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.

Anadolu says 10 helicopters and planes were taking part in the firefighting operation.
