Re: “,” June 25 letters to the editor.

A letter-writer falsely accused Democratic representatives of being childish during their recent sit-in over gun control. It isn’t childish when popularly elected officials protest another party’s continued failure to follow the wishes of 80 percent of Americans for a very few constitutional limitations on weapon sales. In fact, it is Republican politicians who for years have been childish. “You don’t agree to play the game by our new rules, we’ll take our ball and bat and go home.” Like immature playgrounders, they’ve regularly insulted an elected president, refused to cooperate with him, and punished those who elected him. They’ve refused to help solve society-weakening problems and even refused to do their constitutionally mandated tasks — while serving the wealthier bullies they so admire. They are the real childish American adults.
