Thieves fail to steal camper. On June 13, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 9000 block of West Walden Avenue in the Littleton area on a report of two men trying to steal a camper. The reporting party said the men seemed to have trouble hooking up the camper and gave up after about 10 minutes. The reporting party’s husband attempted to follow the suspects, but was unsuccessful. The owner moved a car in front of the camper to prevent further theft attempts.

Gas station store found abandoned. A man called deputies on June 16 after he tried to shop at a Valero Speedy Mart, 10218 W. Chatfield Ave., Ken-Caryl, only to find it unlocked and abandoned. The man said he went in to use the bathroom and buy a drink, but there was no clerk behind the counter. After using the bathroom, the man still found no clerk present and he found no employee anywhere on the premises. The property owner said the last person there must have failed to lock up.

911 hang-up actually domestic dispute. On June 17, deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call in the 10000 block of West Hialeah Place in the Littleton area. After a callback, a man said the 911 call was a result of a broken phone screen. When deputies arrived to do a welfare check, they learned that a couple had been arguing and the woman called 911 in hopes of calming the situation.

Glass door shot with BB gun. A man called deputies on June 15 to report that a glass window at his home in the 10000 block of West Cooper Avenue in the Littleton area had apparently been shot with a BB gun. The man said he came downstairs and noticed that his glass door was shattered, but mostly intact. When trying to open the door, the glass began to break apart.

Bus window broken. On June 14, deputies responded to the parking lot of Aspen Creek Academy, 6500 W. Coal Mine Ave., Columbine (Littleton), where a broken window had been discovered on a bus belonging to the school. It appeared the damage had been caused by a BB.
