Re: “,” June 29 news story.
It seems one of Darryl Glenn’s major selling points is his campaign promise to take an “uncompromising” approach to Washington. That might sell well to the far right of his party, but I’m not sure how he would ever expect to get unaffiliated voters or crossover Democrats with that style. After all, itap that same approach that has made Sen. Ted Cruz one of the most disliked individuals in Congress. When you have so many candidates running in a primary, itap easy for a Donald Trump or Darryl Glenn to become the nominee with a small, dedicated following, only to fail badly in the general election (see Dan Maes). Once more, the Republican Party in Colorado shoots itself in the foot.

I read with interest the comment that Darryl Glenn “said he wouldn’t work across the aisle with Democrats and vowed to vote against fellow Republican Mitch McConnell if the current Senate majority leader sought to keep his post.” This, in a nutshell, is exactly what is wrong with the U.S. Congress today. People with radical viewpoints refuse to try to find solutions to the nation’s problems. These “my way or the highway” people should be kicked right out the door.
