Re: “,” June 30 Eli Lake column.
Eli Lake correctly notes that Susan Rice was not appointed secretary of state because of her false statements about Benghazi on the Sunday news shows. Rice was only on the shows because the secretary of state at the time, Hillary Clinton, declined. She later testified to Congress that “going on the Sunday shows is not my favorite thing to do.” However, just 18 months later, Clinton appeared on multiple Sunday talk shows to tout her new book, “Hard Choices.” She has also been on multiple Sunday shows in the last year to boost her presidential campaign.
So, when the country needed to hear from our secretary of state after four Americans were killed in Benghazi, she refused to go on, but when she wanted to sell her book or have a platform to campaign, she eagerly goes on.
How ironic that Clinton is the one with the career still on the rise.
