Colorado Buffaloes head football coach Mike MacIntyre announced the team’s five captains for the 2016 season on Tuesday.

Tight end George Frazier, offensive tackle Jeromy Irwin, tailback Phillip Lindsay, quarterback Sefo Liufau and linebacker Kenneth Olugbode were named the team’s five captains.

“All those guys have been here at least four years,” MacIntyre said in a news release. “They’re truly ingrained into what we want, they know the culture that we have and what we are striving to achieve. Each one of them is a great competitor and will represent the team well.”

Lindsay, Liufau and Olugbode served as captains last season. Liufau becomes just the second Buffaloes player to serve as captain for three seasons, joining quarterback Pat Carney, who was CU’s captain from 1891-93.
