Commerce City Police responded to a carjacking in the parking lot of a Dollar General store Wednesday evening.
Police said the suspect took an SUV at gunpoint before fleeing eastbound on East 72nd Avenue. The vehicle continued east until the suspect abandoned it in the intersection of Colorado Highway 2 and East 72nd Avenue.
The suspect then ran into a 7-11 parking lot on East 72nd Avenue and took another vehicle, described as a 2014 Honda Civic with license plate number 113-WRT, at gunpoint. He then fled eastbound on East 72nd Avenue.
Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 30’s, wearing a black and white striped shirt. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
