Director of National Intelligence James Clapper recently refused a request from House Speaker Paul Ryan to refrain from providing classified information to Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign.
Ryan argued in a that Clinton’s handling of classified information while secretary of state makes her unfit to handle such information unless she becomes president.
Clinton and Donald Trump are set to begin receiving classified intelligence briefings immediately following their parties’ national conventions this month.
