Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gives a thumbs up after his wife Melania's speech Monday at the Republican National Convention.
Donald Trump has managed to clear a very low bar of acceptance for his candidacy for president at the Republican National Convention.

All we have learned this week from this show-business debacle that he fashioned to cater to his ego is that his radical-right supporters hate Hillary Clinton to the point of embarrassing themselves. But pointing fingers at Clinton to slander her reputation is not going to defeat her when itap clear that those doing the pointing have no grip on reality. How does Clinton get her reputation back? By winning this contest and bouncing this biggest loser of a candidate back to his business charade of declaring bankruptcies, the only art of the deal he truly knows.

Re: July 18 editorial.

The editorial giving kudos to the Colorado delegates to the Republican National Convention is a great example of why this country is so divided. Those delegates stole the delegate positions after Donald Trump won the primary.  After disturbing the convention, they walked out.  As a result, Colorado Republicans have no representation at the convention.

Re: July 20 news story.

Congratulations to Ted Cruz for standing up for his moral values and refusing to endorse Donald Trump at the convention. It is disappointing that other stalwarts in the Republican Party did not have that same courage and caved in to peer pressure. And how sad to learn that Heidi Cruz had to be escorted from the arena for her own safety.. The GOP certainly can no longer be considered a “Grand Old Party.”

Re: July 19 news story.

Melania Trump may have echoed some of the comments made by Michelle Obama in 2008, but the difference is that Mrs. Trump actually meant them when she said them.

What we didn’t hear from Mrs. Trump, however, was her saying, as Mrs. Obama did, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country.” It is clear that Mrs. Trump has been proud of this country since the day she legally became a U.S. citizen.
