A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night in a crash on U.S. 285 in the foothills of Jefferson County.

The fatal crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the Windy Point area, just outside of Aspen Park, when the motorcyclist hit a guard rail, according to the State Patrol.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and take an alternate route if possible.

A Jefferson County Coroner’s Office staffer was en route to the scene, the State Patrol said.
