According to a 1983 Colorado Springs police report, officers responded to a call from a man saying his son, 18-year-old Darryl Glenn, had assaulted him.
When asked recently by reporters if the report was about him, Colorado Republican Senate candidate Darryl Glenn said he had no knowledge of the incident and that it may have been someone else — either his half-brother or another person named Darryl Glenn.
A handwriting expert who compared a recent signature by the candidate to one on the 1983 police report said she believes they were by the same person.
When contacted about the report, a spokeswomen for Glenn said: “Darryl has never been arrested, never even been questioned by the police, and doesn’t know what actually happened.”
In June, Glenn shocked the Colorado Republican establishment by winning the Senate primary among a crowded field. He faces Sen. Michael Bennet this fall.
