Re: July 23 Perspective article.
Eric Sondermann manged to make our choice in November even more unpalatable. I’m always impressed by articles that pretend to be somewhat neutral, yet still manage to effectively defame one target. The generous sprinkling of anti-Hillary Clinton adjectives was notable. The “tortured, joyless grind” of her campaign. She is a “plodder, often wooden.” Her “well-developed sense of entitlement” and “ethical slipperiness.” Her “husband’s money-grubbing.” Her corporate speaking “racket.” Her “obfuscations and lies.” It’s no longer necessary to actually document or prove Hillary’s sins, because it has become the accepted narrative, painstakingly built over 25 years by the hate machine. Especially interesting, however, is the choice of the photos of Clinton accompanying the article. It must have taken hours to find these two amazingly unflattering shots. Best job of strategic photo-picking since Newsweek’s famous “Queen of Rage” image of a menacing Michele Bachmann.
