Re: July 23 editorial.

The Post has it wrong. Itap not “How will GOP right its ship?” Itap “How will Washington right its ship?”

In case you haven’t noticed, the rule of law is in retreat, the democratic process is compromised and in their wake special interests and anarchists prevail. Our federal government has become obese, incompetent and hopelessly corrupt. That includes Republicans and Democrats and explains why an establishment politician could not win the Republican nomination for president and why a Democratic senator who proclaims himself a socialist and outside the establishment attracted wildly enthusiastic followers and gave corrupt Hillary Clinton a run for the money (no pun intended). Who knows —  without the entrenched Democratic Party apparatus, Bernie Sanders might have become the Democratic nominee.
