Littleton police are investigating a pair of armed carjackings, each committed by a suspect matching the description of the other one.
The first occurred about 12:20 p.m. Saturday in the 4600 block of W. Mineral Avenue.
“The victim reported the suspect approached her and demanded her vehicle, while brandishing a handgun. The victim gave up her vehicle and the suspect drove away in it, in an unknown direction,” according to a police statement.
The victim, who was unharmed, described the suspect as a heavy-set black male in his late teens to early 20s. The stolen vehicle was a black 2002 Toyota Celica with Colorado license plate 587-EOY.
Another report came in at 2:30 p.m. Sunday about a carjacking in the 6000 block of S. Gallup Street. Again, the victim was a woman.
She was sitting in her black 2006 Buick Lacrosse, when a similarly described suspect approached the female victim in the parking lot of the Littleton Museum.
He brandished a handgun and demanded the vehicle.
He struck the woman before driving away in the vehicle, which has Colorado license plate 621-EUQ. Neither vehicle has been recovered.
