Getting your player ready...

On and off the field, Von Miller still is Von Miller. After only five days of training camp, the Broncos’ all-pro outside linebacker is right on the cusp of being in full game shape. His swagger never has left.

“Still the Ferrari,” Miller said about his leaner body. “It’s just the 2016 sport version. It still does the exact same stuff. It’s got some better features. Zero to 60, probably a little bit faster.”

Miller showed off his speed and bull rush during individual drills Monday with some predictable success. He’s in good shape and said he ends every practice feeling like he can do more.

Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips isn’t worried about his star linebacker.

“Von’s ready to go,” Phillips said.

Miller should see full practice repetitions at some point this week, according to coach Gary Kubiak. He might not see much preseason game action, but he’s excited for the Super Bowl rematch facing quarterback Cam Newton and the Caroline Panthers in the Broncos’ Sept. 8 season opener.

“That’s what everybody wants to see, right?” Miller asked.

Miller praised the leaps that outside linebackers Shaquil Barrett and Shane Ray have made this offseason. He also gave some love to outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware for helping him get his contract done.

The only thing Miller didn’t do right was kick. He joined the kickers to attempt a field goal during Monday’s practice. He missed badly.

Ty Sambrailo missed Monday’s practice with a hyperextended elbow.  Kubiak  said he’ll miss a couple of days. Rookie guard Connor McGovern stepped in for Sambrailo for a good portion of first-team reps Monday.
