Authorities in Chaffee County are investigating after a 48-year-old Salida woman’s body was found Monday morning near a road.
The county sheriff’s office says the remains of Christine M. Zwiefel were discovered by a group walking on Chaffee County Road 103.
“The Chaffee County Coroner responded and took possession of the body which will be transported to Colorado Springs where (an) autopsy will be performed to indicate cause of death,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
The death remains under investigation and further details on the case were not immediately released.
