Denver weather: Will city see record heat this week?

Abnormally warm temperatures forecast across Colorado on Monday, according to National Weather Service

So far, this fall is feeling more like summer, with near-record heat more reminiscent of August than October forecast for Denver in the coming days.

in Denver could peak near 88 degrees on Monday, which would break the city’s of 87 degrees set in 2024, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures overnight, tying Denver’s record for the warmest overnight low, .

Denver’s “normal” temperature high for Oct. 5 is 70 degrees, according to the weather service. Temperatures in the high 80s are common in August, .

Other temperatures expected in Colorado on Monday, according to weather service forecasters, include highs of:

  • 88 degrees in , just short of the 90-degree record set in 1947
  • 89 degrees in , which would break the 87-degree record set in 1990
  • 85 degrees in , just short of the 87-degree record set in 2024
  • 77 degrees in , just short of the 80-degree record set in 2024
  • 89 degrees in , which would break the 87-degree record set in 2024
  • 85 degrees in , just short of the 87-degree record set in 2024
  • 90 degrees in , which would tie the record set in 2024
  • 87 degrees in , which would break the 84-degree record set in 1997
  • 90 degrees in , which would break the 89-degree record set in 1997
  • 88 degrees in , just short of the 90-degree record set in 1993

Another day of near-record heat is expected Tuesday, with Denver set to reach a high of 86 degrees, weather service forecasters said. That’s just short of Denver’s 87-degree heat record for Oct. 6, which was last tied in 2020, according to weather service .
