Authorities on Tuesday identified the 53-year-old Texas man in which speed is considered a contributing factor.
Robert Hendricks, of Cleburne, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Interstate 25 crash in Las Animas County. The Colorado State Patrol says Hendricks wrecked his motorcycle about 9:45 a.m. just a half-mile from the New Mexico state line.
Investigators say Hendricks was on a 2012 Harley-Davidson Street Glide traveling northbound on the interstate in the left lane when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and traveled off the left side of the road into the center median.
“While in the center median, the driver of the Harley-Davidson was ejected as (the motorcycle) began rolling end over end,” the State Patrol said in a crash report. “The Harley-Davidson rolled two times and came to rest in the center median facing southeast.”
