AURORA, Colo. (AP) — A man who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in a drive-by shooting in Aurora has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
47-year-old Emanuel Lee Abrams was sentenced Aug. 3 for the March 2015 death of 46-year-old Lupe Salas.
Police who went to the scene found Salas with multiple gunshot wounds, as well as .22-caliber shell casings in a nearby gutter. A witness told police Salas and Abrams, who lived in a nearby motel, had argued earlier in the day.
Another witness said a man matching Abrams’ description shot Salas.
Abrams was initially charged with first-degree murder but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge in July.
