The view from the perch where Jeremy Caldwell found himself stranded on the second Flatiron in Boulder.

When Jeremy Cadwell moved to Colorado earlier this summer, he was looking to “find some new things.” Stranded on the side of the Second Flatiron earlier this week, watching a Boulder sunset, it’s safe to say Cadwell got that — and then some.

“I certainly found what I was looking for,” Cadwell said today. “I thought to myself, while holding onto that small sliver of rock I was pressed up against: ‘This may be one of the last sights I see in my life, but it sure is beautiful.'”

Cadwell, 36, of Lakewood, spent the night on the side of Boulder’s Second Flatiron after getting struck Monday night. His overnight texts to local climbers he knew failed to summon any help, so he finally called 911 on Tuesday morning and was rescued without incident.
