Peter Singer is right that the best way to open elections up to third parties and independents is to pass voting reforms that allow people to express more than one option for president. With a high number of Bernie Sanders voters and a GOP caucus at the epicenter of the “Dump Trump” movement, Colorado is well poised to lead in this regard. Why should we be forced to vote for two nominees that only 9 percent of voters chose? If independents, Greens, Libertarians, NeverTrumpers and Sanderites all join together in Colorado, we can create true voting freedom this November. Voters shouldn’t have to choose between their favorite candidate and the “lesser evil.” That is the greatest evil of our current voting system, and if we mobilize quickly, we can end it this year.
