One person died and two others were injured when two vehicles collided on Federal Boulevard in Adams County on Saturday, according to the State Patrol.
Shortly after the accident at Federal and Interstate 76, the State Patrol said the accident was “the unfortunate results of people racing and running red lights.”
A Chevrolet Cruz was heading south on Federal at a high rate of speed at 5 p.m., when a northbound silver Hyundai made a left turn into the Chevy’s path, Trooper Tim Sutherland said Sunday.
The Chevrolet crashed into the Hyundai, pushing it over the curb and into a light pole.
The driver of the Hyundai died. A driver and passenger in the Chevy were injured seriously and taken to Denver Health, Sutherland said.
The State Patrol is investigating.
