Authorities in Arapahoe County have identified the 48-year-old man slain Monday .
Steven Charles McManus was found dead at an apartment on the 1600 block of West Girard Avenue. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office said Thursday his cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation.
Police said they arrested 30-year-old Michael Jon Stevens in the case but did not elaborate on how he was connected to the killing. County jail records show he is being held without bail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Cmdr. Sam Realmuto, a Sheridan police spokesman, told The Denver Post earlier this week that investigators are not ready to say what they think precipitated the killing.
“Right now, we’re not releasing the cause of death until we have the autopsy completed,” he added.
