Hunters and fishermen aren’t the only ones benefiting from the work Colorado Parks and Wildlife does, and shouldn’t be the only ones to pay. All Coloradans benefit from having these resources maintained properly, and it’s a good use of taxpayer money, in my opinion.
But here’s another idea for increasing the funding support: How about the National Rifle Association gets back to supporting our outdoors men and women as they used to do, before they got so heavily into politics in the 1970s? Instead of spending millions of dollars to lobby against gun laws, they could send that money to Colorado’s — and other states’ — parks and wildlife departments.
