A man with a knife attacked a customer Tuesday in a West Highland restaurant in Denver.

The attack happened just before 5 p.m. at Mead St. Station, 3625 W. 32nd Ave., said John White, a Denver Police Department spokesman.

The customer suffered severe injuries, police said.

The assailant is at large, and police are following up on leads, White said.

Police described the assailant as a black man, 6-foot-3 and 250 to 300 pounds, wearing a green shirt and khaki shorts.

A motive in the attack was not immediately released.
