Born in a backyard 16 years ago, the Sunnyside Music Festival has become an essential event that rallies neighbors and visitors in a celebration of Sunnyside’s diverse, eclectic community.
This year’s Sept. 10 festival — forged by a band of volunteer board members who labor alongside neighborhood sponsors like Avanti Food & Beverage, Leprino Foods and Denver Beer Company and animated with more than 150 volunteers — electrifies Sunnyside’s Chaffee Park with its deepest lineup of Colorado musicians and artists.
With bluesy songwriter Grant Sabin, bluegrass jammers , Afrofunk collective , Sunnyside’s Afro-Cuban swingers and Grateful Dead rockers , this year’s Sunnyside Music Festival will ignite Chaffee Park with a free, community-made party that amplifies the best of Denver.
Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. at Chaffee Park, West 44th Avenue and Tejon Street.
