Thousands gather for the 2016 Colorado 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb-15 Year Commemoration at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016. As a way to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who gave their lives on 9/11/2001, each participant climbs the equivalent of 110 stories of the World Trade Center with nine laps on the stairs around the amphitheatre.

Sunday morning my wife and I had to the privilege to participate in the 9/11 Stair Climb at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It was so good to see so many young firefighters and first responders there. So many willing to protect all of us. I just had an overwhelming feeling that America is not going to … in a hand basket! I am so proud to say I am a firefighter as well.
