Did you know: The NFL has not always kept complete statistics on sacks. It wasn’t until 1982 when the NFL started giving credit to the defensive players responsible for taking down the QB behind the line of scrimmage. Before that, sacks were tracked on a “this-QB-was-sacked-this-many-times” basis.

Here, we track the Denver Broncos’ sacks. Last year . Those 52 sacks were tied for the second-best number of sacks the Broncos have landed, and were a big leap above the Broncos’ historical average of 37 sacks per season (1960-2015).
