One man was killed and another man was wounded seriously in a shooting early Thursday on the south side of Pueblo.
The shooting happened about 4:45 a.m. on the 2600 block of O’Neal Avenue, according to investigators.
When officers arrived at the scene on a report of shots being fired, they found a dead man lying in the middle of the street and another man who had been shot in the parking lot of the nearby Pueblo Village Apartment parking lot. The wounded man was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
The Pueblo County coroner’s office identified the slain man as 33-year-old Daniel Leyba.
“Witnesses described seeing two vehicles leave the area just after the shooting,” police said in a news release. “One vehicle was said to be a silver in color car with tinted windows and the other a dark-colored sedan.”

Investigators say the shooting does not appear to be random, but that they aren’t sure if it is gang-related.
Police said an investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing as detectives continue to gather further information and process evidence
