Offense: C+
Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian came out firing, completing 17-of-25 passes for 215 yards in the first half. Running backs C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker delivered punch on the ground. The Broncos settled for field goals four times, plus a missed field-goal attempt. but did enough to get the victory.
Defense: A
An interception returned for a touchdown by cornerback Aqib Talib and strip sack by Von Miller, which led to a defensive touchdown by Shane Ray, once again made heroes of the Broncos’ defense. It dominated Andrew Luck most of the game.
Special teams: B-
Fairly quiet game for this unit. Brandon McManus missed a 54-yard field-goal attempt in the first half. He made four attempts.
Coaching: B
Coach Gary Kubiak decided to kick a field goal with a little under two minutes left and trust his defense to stop Luck and they did. A few penalties that need cleaning up, but good overall.
Game balls
1. Von Miller made three sacks and a forced a fumble to help secure the victory.
2. Demaryius Thomas fought through pain of a hip injury to finish with a game-high five catches for 90 yards.
3. Aqib Talib returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown to put the Broncos up 23-13 in the fourth quarter.
