No suspicious device found at Denver middle school, police clearing scene

The purported device was said to have been found inside of Hamilton Middle School

The Denver Police Department says no suspicious device was found at a middle school on Wednesday afternoon despite reports to the contrary.

Officers were clearing the scene about 3 p.m.

Technician John White, a police spokesman, said the authorities were called about a purported device being  found inside of Hamilton Middle School on the 8600 block of East Dartmouth Avenue.

Will Jones, a Denver Public Schools spokesman, said two rooms adjacent to the area where the item was found were evacuated as well as the rooms above it.
