
Like its other “niche” film fests, Denver Film Society’s has generally been modest in scope, owing to the fact that its parent organization already runs a massive annual event in the form of the Denver Film Festival (which returns Nov. 2-13). But that doesn’t mean this year’s 15-film celebration of Latino cinema can’t end on a big note.
Mexican director Jonás Cuarón, the co-writer of “Gravity” and son of Academy Award-winning director Alfonso Cuarón, will attend the festap closing night reception on Sept. 25, which starts at 6 p.m. and includes a 7:30 p.m. screening of his new film “Desierto” at the Sie FilmCenter, 2510 E.
