Firefighters in Evergreen snuffed out a small wildfire early Saturday that prompted pre-evacuation notices.

Evergreen Fire Rescue says the blaze, which burned about 3 acres in the Old Squaw Pass Road area, was 100 percent contained as of about 5 a.m.

Nearly 50 fire personnel were summoned to the scene. As of 7 a.m., crews were mopping up hot spots.

Evergreen Fire Rescue said there was no damage to any homes despite fears of the fire spreading into the Beaver Brook Lodge Estates subdivision.

The fire, which began about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, was caused by high winds that blew over a very high voltage power line.
