Aldo Svaldi’s article on post-secondary education effectively highlighted Colorado’s need for an educated and trained workforce. While supporting high school students with college aspirations is integral to our workforce, we should not lose sight of the potential contributions that the 900,000-plus adult Coloradans with some college but no degree could also contribute. This population is poised to fill those jobs. Motivating adult learners to finish their degrees to support our industries was the driving force behind the Colorado State University System’s 2007 decision to create the Colorado State University-Global Campus as a university with the mission to support the adult non-traditional learner for workplace success through education. The university’s unique model facilitates the delivery of workforce-ready adults to buoy Colorado’s growth and sustainability. Backed with their work experience and CSU-Global education, we are proud of our students and graduates and their collective impact on Colorado’s economy.
