Re: Sept. 30 Teresa Keegan column.

Are you kidding? Teresa Keegan wants citizens to subsidize downtown parking? No, Teresa, we do not need to encourage people to drive downtown. Traffic there is slow-moving and inefficient, has been for many years and it should be! We don’t need more cars downtown. We need people to take the bus, the train, carpool or ride a bike. And yes, it is feasible. I’m 64 and have been using alternative transportation most of my adult life — andeven before I was an adult I biked to East High School. We need to reduce the number of cars on the road, not increase them. With the new commuter rail coming on line and all the Park-n-Ride, it is more than feasible to use alternative transportation in Denver.
