A Denver Public Schools emblem and sign on the Evie Garrett Dennis Campus that houses five separate schools with 1,600 students in Pre-K through 12th grade in Northeast Denver on March 16, 2016.Denver voters will decide this fall on a bond issue and mill levy override that would raise $628 million in taxes to pay for school construction and the expansion of educational programs.
Ballot measures 3A and 3B would allow DPS to build new schools, renovate old ones, and add air conditioning in its hottest schools. It would also pay for hiring more psychologists, social workers and nurses
According to the Denver school board, the mill levy would increase property taxes about $10 a month, based on the average price of a home in Denver at $330,000.
