A police dog named Widget sniffed out about $1.1 million in cocaine during a traffic stop in Pueblo.

The discovery and drug bust happened at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when an officer spotted a maroon Saturn speeding north on Interstate 25 near Pueblo Boulevard, according to a Pueblo Police Department media release.

The Saturn was stopped and officers “obtained permission to search the vehicle,” police said.

Widget sniffed around the vehicle and detected illegal narcotics. The vehicle was seized and searched, police said, and 10 kilograms of cocaine were found in a hidden compartment.
