Armed robbers donning Halloween masks and dark clothing hit a Colorado Springs home and a 7-Eleven in a two-hour span early Thursday morning, according to separate police reports.

The two police reports both by officers in the Sand Creek Division mentioned the similar circumstances in each robbery without saying whether detectives believed the two robberies were related. The reports did not indicate if anyone was arrested.

Three men wearing masks and dark clothing confronted a family at the front door of their home on the 1400 block of 1400 Potter Drive at 12:36 a.m. Two of the suspects wore bandannas over their faces and one wore a skull mask. They stole keys to the family’s car, several video game player items and broke their phones to prevent them from calling police.

The second robbery happened at 2:33 a.m. at a 7-Eleven, 2350 Hancock Expressway, which is five miles southwest of the home.

Two masked men entered the store carrying a rifle and a handgun.

One of the suspects wore a skull mask and the second wore a mask with eye cut-outs, according to the police report. They demanded money from the cash register and lottery tickets, the report says.

A third suspect remained outside near a car, the report says. All three wore dark clothing.
