It is with great dismay that I have seen countless fliers with blatantly false information distributed by the opponents of state Senate candidate Rachel Zenzinger in Arvada.
The flier falsely says that Zenzinger took a trip to China using taxpayer money. Several media outlets have debunked this tripe, but recently voters even received fortune cookies in the mail, meant to “commemorate” this fictitious trip.
I call upon the district attorney to act quickly in its investigation and announce in a timely manner that Zenzinger’s opponents have violated state law, so that this material will have no adverse effect on the election outcome. And I call upon the legislature to find a way to put more teeth into the law that this group has clearly disregarded.
I have known Zenzingersince her days as a City Council member, and I can vouch for her integrity.
