Looking for weak spots. A man and woman woke up Oct. 16 to noises outside their bedroom window. Two men were trying to pry out the screen, but they had stopped and were then trying to open their front door in the 1900 block of North Macon Street. When that failed, they went back to the bedroom window. The victim opened the blinds and looked at the suspects, who ran off his lawn as soon as they saw him.

Robbing the show house. The site supervisor for a KB Homes location in the 1900 block of South Cathy Way went to work Oct. 11 and discovered that someone had broken into the model home that he used as an office. Two laptops and a light fixture were missing. Officers determined that the suspects climbed in through an unlocked window and that the security alarm was not set the night before.

Keys in the car. On Oct. 10, Police received a report that a man’s dually pickup truck was stolen from the 2500 block of North Laredo Street. The victim said he left the ignition keys in the truck’s gas tank two days earlier, and found out that day that it was gone.

Missing money. A woman cleaning apartments in the 1000 block of Pitkin Street called police Oct. 10 because she said someone stole $200 from her purse, which she left laying in the main hallway of the building. There are no suspects.

Wiper vandals. Police were called to the 2200 block of South Xanadu Way on Oct. 11 because a woman said someone damaged her windshield wipers while she was at work. It looked like someone tried to rip the blade off. There are no suspects.
