Brighton police search for a man who stabbed another man early Thursday morning just outside a bar on Main Street in Brighton.

The victim, a man described as being in his 30s, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said John Bradley, Brighton police spokesman.

Police have a specific suspect but are not releasing information about who that is while they continue to look for him, Bradley said.

Bystanders inside Jerry’s Bar, 130 N. Main St., were surprised at the outcome of what seemed like a minor disagreement between the two men, he said.

“There wasn’t even a fight. The two gentlemen walked outside and one of them got stabbed,” Bradley said.

The suspect stabbed the other man in the abdomen, he said.

Although the suspect is still on the loose, he said authorities do not believe the general public is at risk, Bradley said.
