If you are a human in the United States, you’ve probably heard of the Lumineers, the Denver-via-New Jersey band that sparked a pop-folk movement with its debut album and in its second, 2016’s “Cleopatra.”
The band has been releasing a steady stream of from the new album throughout the year, typically featuring a sort of split-life effect where the song’s main character can see what would happen in their life if they decided to zig instead of zag.
Their video for “Sleep on the Floor,” the opening track from “Cleopatra,” is no different. The song follows a girl who glimpses her life if she ran away from home with a boy after a funeral, with all the requisite ups and downs of a road trip with no defined end in sight.
