Re: Nov. 12 Dottie Lamm column.
I have great respect for Dottie Lammand herundying service to the state of Colorado and the country, and indeed have voted for her at least a time or two. Like Lamm, I mourn the fact that there will be no “female president as a role model,” but this is where are agreement ends on this subject.
It was not the fault of the American voter that a female will not be president, but the Democratic Party that nominated her. Of all the qualified women in the country, we were asked to pull the handle for one whohad so many problems and had so much baggage that my hand absolutely could not go through the mechanics. Although I am not entirely happy with the final results, the Democratic ticket was not an option.
I look forward to the day (if I live long enough) Ivote for a woman running for president, but I will not do it just because she is a woman.

Dottie Lamm bemoans young girls being “deprived of Hillary’s compassionate, strong and smart leadership” and having “to wait for a female president as a role model.”
Lucky young girls that they missed this one! Who wants an accomplished con for a role model for their daughters? The Clintons have been avoiding prosecution since their days in Arkansas. Questionable real estate and stock transactions, pilfering our things from our White House, Benghazi, private e-mail server (putting our national security at risk), the Clinton Global Foundation.
There area multitude of wonderful role models for our young girls. They just don’t happen to be named Hillary Clinton.
