Re: Nov. 18 letter to the editor.

For those who feel that deplorable hypocrites elected Donald Trump, you might take a close look at the results. Trump received just slightly more votes than Mitt Romney in 2012. The ones who helped Trump get elected were actually millions of voters who did not vote for Hillary Clinton but had voted for Obama.

It is time to stop name calling and accept the results. It is in the best interest of all of us to monitor what our government does and hold our elected officials accountable to what is in our country’s best interest.

Letter-writer Dan Eberhart is another in a long line of those who complain of gridlock. My response is: When we are being pushed over the cliff into socialism and government control of every little bit of our lives, digging in your heels is a good idea. As for whether Donald Trump “was the worst prescription for what ails us,” we shall see.

Rick Roeder, Littleton
