Strong northwest winds are bringing cooler temperatures to the Denver metro area on Tuesday.

Wind gusts will be as high as about 31 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The high temperature is expected to be near 38 degrees. Tuesday night, the temperature will dip to around 21 degrees, according to the NWS.

The high will be around 39 degrees both Wednesday and Thursday, the NWS says. It will be sunny on Wednesday and partly sunny on Thursday.

It will stay below freezing all day Friday, with a high of about 29 degrees, meteorologists predict. The low will be around 16 degrees.

It will warm up again over the weekend, with a high near 39 degrees on Saturday and 46 on Sunday. The high on Monday will be around 47 degrees.
