Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials are offering a $5,000 reward for information in solving an “exceptionally disturbing” poaching case in Kit Carson County.

In a two-night span in November, a poacher or poachers shot nine antelope and two white-tailed deer, according to wildlife Officer Aaron Berscheid.

“Whomever is responsible for this terrible act stole the state’s wildlife from the ethical and responsible sportsmen and women, as well as the citizens of Colorado,” Berscheid said.

The big-game animals were shot near Seibert, in the southwest corner of Kit Carson County. The carcasses were then left to rot, he said.

“Any information related to this incident provided by the public could be the key to this case,” Berscheid said.
