Boulder police investigate the death of a cyclist who was struck by the driver of a semitrailer at 28th Street and Arapahoe Avenue on Nov. 30, 2016.The cyclist — who has been identified as Dum Gurung, 65, of Boulder — was hit while crossing Arapahoe at 28th around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Cordingly said the semi, which a witness described as a King Soopers truck, was traveling north on 28th when it made a right turn onto eastbound Arapahoe.
The truck already was partially through the intersection when Gurung — riding north on the sidewalk along 28th — entered the intersection and hit the side of the truck before being pulled under the trailer’s rear tires.
