Around 2 p.m. Thursday, Uber crushed the hopes of app tappers around the city when they tweeted that they were out of sweaters:

Uber paired with on Thursday, Dec. 8 to deliver free, custom ugly holiday sweaters to the fine people of Denver with just the few taps of an app.
The giveaway began at 11 a.m. and didn’t even make it to its 4 p.m. mountain time close. To get the sweater, users had to see and tap the special green message.

With complementary red, blue and yellow tones, the classic Colorado “C,” the skyline and some adorable bears, the sweater actually could go from ugly to cute quite quickly…if you squint enough.
Just 500 sweaters were available on a first-come-first-serve basis in sizes women’s medium and large and men’s large and extra large.
